About LISHA
The Little India Shop Owners and Heritage Association (LISHA) is the Precinct Management Association (PMA) for Singapore’s Little India precinct. Established in 2000 by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), LISHA is dedicated to preserving Little India’s rich heritage while driving its continued growth as a vibrant cultural, tourism and commercial destination.
As the PMA, LISHA serves as the bridge between businesses, government agencies, community partners and stakeholders, working collaboratively to enhance the precinct through placemaking, destination marketing, business engagement, heritage conservation and community development.
For over two decades, LISHA has championed initiatives that strengthen the identity of Little India while supporting the livelihood of its businesses and ensuring the precinct remains welcoming, inclusive and culturally vibrant. Our work encompasses business support, tourism development, workforce initiatives, stakeholder engagement, heritage programming, sustainability efforts and the management of signature precinct events.
LISHA is the organiser of some of Little India’s most recognised annual celebrations, including the Deepavali Festival, Pongal Festival, and Indian New Year Celebrations. Beyond these flagship events, we curate year-round programmes that celebrate culture, activate public spaces, promote local businesses, and foster stronger connections between residents, visitors and the wider community.
Working closely with agencies such as the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), National Heritage Board (NHB), People’s Association (PA), Enterprise Singapore and other strategic partners, LISHA continues to shape Little India into a thriving destination where heritage is preserved, businesses prosper and communities come together.
